Tofino to Sooke, BC

Awoke to a beautiful day, tide was out but small waves were breaking at 6:00 am. I sat on the porch and just watched the sun come up and the islands appear out of the mist. I left the door to the balcony open and I could hear the waves all night. Below is a (stock) photo of the place I stayed at:

My ipad mini is DOA, so there wont be many pics until I get a new one or locate an adapter for my camera.

Headed out fairly early, backtracking to Nanaimo and then heading towards Victoria, BC and ultimately to Sooke. The ride was awesome and the traffic wasn't too bad. Sooke is a very small town west of Victoria. I went down to the dock in the harbor and I could see the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula (U.S.) across the water, about 20 miles away.

While I was on the dock, the seals started to move towards shore. They evidently noticed that a fisherman was filleting his catch. I counted at least six seals plus a baby. I took a bunch of photos, but I have not looked at them. Hopefully I can find an adapter for my camera and post some picts.

This is a pict of the Tofino area taken from a plane:

Tomorrow, I will go visit the Sooke "pot holes" and then maybe head west along the coast.
