Ok, ok, no. What is my route today??? Mr. Seger said "stood alone on a mountain top. Staring out at the great divide. I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide. Just then I saw a young hawk (for me two eagles) flying' and my soul began to rise".
I really wanted to go see a friend, John, in Bonners Ferry, ID (home of the infamous Ruby Ridge standoff). Unfortunately, I didn't have any good news to report to him so I went the other way :(((
My route was to go south along lake to Lewiston, then turn left on road to Lolo pass and ultimately Missoula. This was a route recommended by a biker. Started out well, then rode over top of pass and again miles (eons) of friking wheat / hay fields. Meanwhile I'm thinking.. they pranked me. Don't need this.
But I turned it into my own Private Idaho. Cranked up Bert, we rocked on the straights and the curves. This was turning into a riding day. And what a day. Bert has new shoes, sky is clear, as I have B52's say "crank it". Which I did:))). Oh boy, what a freaking ride!! Oh boy, bet myself that I would not use my brakes until Missoula. Only downshifts. Yummy, yummy!, crazy, crazy. But safe fun and the best ride. Wish I had a gopro, the video would have been awesome.
I followed the Nez Perce trail (national historic trail) which Lewis &Clark used on their journey. Another wow, wow, wow. Ultimately ended at Lolo (not Jones) pass. Missed hitting 7 deer on the decent.
My biker buddies were right. Then to Missoula, gateway to Glacier National Park. Oh no, story tomorrow. Can't find Picts. Sorry :(
